Carl practices family law, adoption, parentage, probate and general civil litigation in McHenry County, Illinois. He has been licensed for 25 years in Illinois and Wisconsin. Carl was a three-time chair of the American Bar Association adoption committee, served as president of the McHenry County Bar Association, and was honored as 2000-2001 Illinois Young Lawyer of the Year. His published legal writings can be found in books, book chapters and legal magazines. Carl wrote the book Illinois Parentage Law and served as president of the McHenry County Bar Association. Mr. Carl also served as an article editor for the ABA's Family Advocate magazine, as an update editor for LexisNexis, and as a speaker for the Illinois State Bar Association, MCBA, ABA and other organizations. In 2015, Mr. Carl contributed chapters on adoption and parentage to Illinois Family Law, published by LexisNexis, and his updated chapters are expected to be published in late 2020. Carl received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1994. His undergraduate degree was conferred by University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
