Duane Cook received a degree in economics from the University of North Carolina in 1976 and received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1979. He began his legal career with Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald (now Bingham Greenebaum Doll) in Louisville, was a partner at Brown Todd & Heyburn (now Frost Brown Todd) in Lexington and was a shareholder and managing director of Newberry Hargrove & Rambicure, also in Lexington. Duane had a successful solo practice for 18 years before founding Duane Cook & Associates in 2011, which grew into Cook & Watkins, PLC after an early 2016 merger. Duane represents a variety of businesses and entrepreneurs, including lenders, venture capital firms, manufacturers, developers, attorneys, law firms, and energy producers. His practice includes business litigation, federal and state appeals, sales and acquisitions, and nearly all the legal issues confronting his business clients. Duane has been admitted to the Bars of the Federal Courts of Appeal for the Fourth, Sixth and Seventh Circuits, as well as to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Deborah Cordova grew up in Mission, Texas and returned to the Rio Grande Valley upon graduating from St. Mary’s University School of Law. She is a partner in the firm Walsh McGurk Cordova Nixon, PLLC. Deborah’s areas of practice include representation of banking institutions, small businesses and individuals in real estate transactions, foreclosures, collections, business entities, estate planning and probate. Deborah graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting. She received her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2002. Deborah also graduated from the University of Texas Pan American with a Master of Business Administration in 2003. Deborah is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. She serves on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas, is President for the Texas Women Lawyers and is active in her local bar association. Deborah was recognized as a Texas Rising Star from 2007-2015.
