Al Shiyou, founder and principal of Shiyou Law Firm, is also a native of Pinola, Mississippi. He received his A.A. degree from Copiah Lincoln Junior College, his B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. While attending law school, Al served as a probation officer in Hinds County, as an agent for the Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control, and he also worked with Nationwide Insurance Company as an agent. After his graduation, he was the manager of the Trust Department for Trustmark National Bank in Hattiesburg for five years before opening his own law firm. Since 1987, Al has been engaged in the general practice of law in Hattiesburg and Shiyou Law Firm. Al is a member of the Mississippi State Bar and is admitted in all State and Federal courts in Mississippi, the U. S. Supreme Court, and the U. S. Tax Court. He has also successfully presented a number of cases to our Court of Appeals and to the Mississippi Supreme Court.

Evett L. Simmons is a graduate of Florida Southern College (B.A., 1979) and received her law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University (J.D., 1982). She received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Suffolk University (2001). Ms. Simmons concentrates her practice in estate planning as well as probate and guardianship administration and litigation. She also practices corporate law with an emphasis in franchising. Admitted to practice law in Florida, Ms. Simmons serves as Managing Partner for the Firm.
