Melissa Muirhead Charpentier has a B.A. from the University of Connecticut, a Master's degree in Counseling from Springfield College and her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law. Attorney Charpentier has practiced family law since 2004. She has been with the Mester Law Group, LLC for over 19 years and her practice is primarily limited to divorce and custody. Prior to attending law school, she was employed as a social worker at Catholic Charities for more than ten years. She supervised adoption services for the Archdiocese of Hartford while attending law school. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar and the Hartford County bar association. Attorney Charpentier is a member of the Family Law Sections of both the Connecticut and Hartford County bar associations. She accepts Guardian ad Litem appointments in criminal and family matters and completed the GAL/AMC training held by the CT Commission on Child Protection. Attorney Charpentier is also trained in mediation and collaborative divorce. She is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Lawyer Association of Greater Hartford. Attorney Charpentier resides in Portland with her husband and two sons. She currently involved with the Portland High School Side Liners, Project Graduation and is on the Stewardship board of the First Congregational Church of Portland. Attorney Charpentier is dedicated to fundraising for the National Kidney Foundation.

Brittany is a Lake Charles, LA native, where she graduated from LaGrange Senior High School in 2006. She then obtained her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts in 2009 from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. Brittany continued her education in Baton Rouge, LA, where she studied at Southern University Law Center. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2012 and became a licensed attorney in the state of Louisiana in October of 2012. With a heart for her community, Brittany moved back to her hometown where she became a law clerk at the Fourteenth Judicial District Court from 2012-2014. After her clerkship, Brittany became an Assistant District Attorney for Calcasieu Parish in March 2014. During her five-year tenure, Brittany worked in the following divisions: misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony, prosecuting major cases such as felony thefts, drug cases, burglaries, and homicides. It is Brittany’s desire to be a helping hand to her community, and her life motto is to enable others to reach their full potential even if it means being their voice. Since childhood, she has been a devoted member of United Christian Fellowship Church. Her heart beats for youth, which she attributes to her parents, who are both active in the local community. As a true family woman, her goal is to treat her clients as if they were own family. Brittany is the proud wife of Bryant Chavis Sr. also a native of Lake Charles, LA. The two recently welcomed their first child into the world, Bryant Jr., in June 2019. Brittany is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, leaders in being of service to all mankind. In her local chapter, she is dedicated to community service projects and promoting education to youth.

There, he advised hundreds of clients, attorneys, and judges in both contested and mediated divorces — as well as in personal injury and estate matters — by conducting financial/forensic audits, projecting asset values, valuing publicly and closely held businesses and interests, and evaluating executive compensation packages. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Kenneth Wang Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Chou spent his youth between Taipei, Taiwan and Syosset, New York and currently resides in Huntington, New York. Mr. Chou is frequently invited by Judges, bar associations, and civic organizations to lecture on topics ranging from matrimonial law to artificial intelligence.
