Amanda Rae Lilly has had strong ties to the Yakima Valley over the last twenty-eight years, as her father moved to the area when she was twelve and works for Pacific Power. She grew up in Yuma, Arizona, which a very similar agricultural community. Amanda completed her undergraduate education at the University of Houston, where she graduated summa cum laude. She completed law school at the South Texas College of Law, where she was obtained a Certificate of Mediation. She returned to Arizona, where she was appointed a Magistrate by the Town of Quartzsite. This afforded her many opportunities to participate in judicial education throughout the country. She is dedicated to the legal profession and justice in every aspect. She served as the Magistrate for two years, prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest. She was an Administrative Law Judge in the state of Washington and presided over child support cases for the Office of Administrative Hearings.
