Cindy Diggs is the attorney-in-charge of the Houston office of Holmes, Diggs & Sadler. She has practiced law for over 30 years, and is Board Certified in both Family Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Cindy puts her client?s needs first. She also knows that a well-planned strategic approach is a necessity in complex family law cases. Finally, Cindy believes in thorough, exacting preparation for court. She assembles her team and determines her strategy for each case with these three principals in mind. In preparing herself and her clients for the rigors of any complex property or child custody case, she prepares for war, but looks for opportunities for peace. Cindy knows the law and is ready to use it to fight for her clients but will also help them settle differences amicably whenever possible. Cindy has spent her entire legal career in Houston and the surrounding areas, and is a specialist in all types of family law and divorce cases, but Cindy?s focus in recent years is on complex asset cases and international family law cases, including cases that involve expatriates who are divorcing in Texas. Cindy has tremendous experience and has the accolades to prove it. She has been selected as a Super Lawyer every year since 2009. She has first-chair trial experience, including jury trial, and has successfully handled cases through the appellate process. She was also awarded AVVO?s Client?s Choice award for divorce. Cindy is a member and a past-president of the Association of Women Attorneys in Houston. Cindy has been particularly active in two prestigious legal organizations in the past decade. In 2012, Cindy was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Membership in ABOTA is offered on an invitation-only basis and is only offered to seasoned jury-trial attorneys who meet strict membership qualifications. She has served on the National Board of ABOTA since 2016. Similarly, Cindy has long been a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers?another distinguished professional organization that only accepts highly-qualified and board certified family lawyers who have been invited to join. Cindy will serve on the IAFL?s National Board starting in the fall of 2017. Cindy is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association as well as the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists. She is also a member of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists and the Texas Association of Family Law Specialists (TAFLS). Cindy served on the Pattern Jury Charge Committee, Family Law, State Bar of Texas from 2001 to 2002.
