Gary Kaplan Workers Compensation Law

Gary R. Kaplan was born on August 13 1958, in Jersey City, New Jersey. While in law school, Mr. Kaplan was the recipient of Scolastic Achievement Awards in Evidence and Civil Pre-Trial Procedure. Mr.Kaplan was admitted to practice in the State of California and before the United States District Court in 1983. From 1983 through October of 1991, Mr. Kaplan was an associate and thereafter became a partner in the law firm of Greenberg, Panish, & Kaplan. In November of 1991, Mr. Kaplan formed the law offices of Gary R. Kaplan where he practiced until February 1, 1994, when he joined the law firm of Prestholt, Petak, Kleeger, Fidone & Villasenor. Mr. Kaplan was an associate of Sylvester & Oppenhiem from 1995 through August of 1999. In August of 1999, Mr. Kaplan became the managing partner of Graiwer & Kaplan, L.L.P. Mr. Kaplan has extensive personal injury, civil litigation and trial experience involving cases dealing with personal injury, government tort liability, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, product liability, construction, highway design, as well as numerous other types of personal injury matters. Mr. Kaplan has also prepared appellate briefs and has successfully argued before the Court of Appeal for the Second Appellate District of the State of California. Mr. Kaplan also litigates clames involving Workers’ Compensation, Serious and Willful misconduct, Labor Code Section 132(a), wrongful termination and employment discrimination. Mr. Kaplan has represented numerous clients during various stages of EEOC and FEHA administrative investigations, which have resulted in the resolution of numerous claims prior to the initiation of a legal proceeding. Mr. Kaplan also has extensive litigation experience in all phases of labor and employment matters, including claims arising under State and Federal Civil Rights statues, wrongful termination, hostile work environment claims, sexual harassment and discrimination whether based on race, religion, age or disability.
