George Yaron Insurance Law

George D. Yaron is a native San Franciscan who graduated from San Francisco State University in 1977 and was immediately commissioned in the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant. George went on to law school at Golden Gate University School of Law in 1980, graduating in the top quartile of his class. Following law school, he fulfilled a four-year commitment to the United States Marine Corps, principally as a Judge Advocate with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing in Southern California based at Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. While there, he was promoted to Chief Trial Counsel, supervising three other prosecuting attorneys, and trying 27 general courts-martial (felony cases) and over 100 special courts-martial (misdemeanor cases) to verdict. He was decorated with the Navy Achievement Medal for his successful service and left active duty from the Marine Corps as a Captain in 1984 to pursue a civilian litigation career, first with the Redding-based insurance defense firm of Moss & Enochian, and later with the San Francisco-based firms of Fisher & Hurst and Kenney, Burd, Knutsen & Markowitz. He is admitted to practice before all the federal and state courts in the states of California and Nevada, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the San Francisco and Clark County Bar Associations, and the Defense Research Institute.
