Jamar has been privileged to represent private, institutional, and municipal clients in both state and federal court. Jamar’s practice includes commercial litigation, employment discrimination, railroad litigation, professional liability, wrongful death, and real estate litigation. In one of his first matters upon returning from military service, he resolved a high value FELA case for mid-six figures—saving our client millions in potential damages exposure and a multi-million dollar settlement demand, and limiting costs.
Jamar is known to bring a detail-oriented, results-focused approach to any matter he handles and will seize every advantage the facts support whether it be in mediation, arbitration, or trial.
Jamar began his career as an Assistant District Attorney at the New York County District Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. As an ADA, he handled hundreds of cases, drafted dozens of motions, succeeded in countless oral arguments, and served as sole attorney in 5 trials. As a Navy JAG, Jamar served as a Victims’ Legal Counsel representing over 150 domestic violence and sexual assault victims, advocated in 11 courts-martial, qualified 6 attorneys and 135 victim advocates, and helped plan a joint service appellate advocacy conference in Washington, D.C.Jamar is admitted to practice in New York and California. His admissions include the Eastern and Southern District of New York, the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Supreme Court—a court in which he led a joint effort to file the Navy Victims’ Legal Counsel Program’s first-ever amicus brief in support of a petition for a writ of certiorari.
In May 2023, Jamar completed his LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University.
