James Brown Constitutional Law

James Brown, a native of Dillon, is a fourth-generation Montanan who has worked in the hay fields and in the halls of Congress. Mr. Brown is licensed to practice law in Washington State and Montana. Mr. Brown is licensed to practice in state, federal and before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Brown holds bachelors degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Montana. Mr. Brown obtained his J.D. from the Seattle University Law School. Mr. Brown also holds an LLM in Taxation from the University of Washington. Upon graduation from law school, Jim worked as a judicial clerk and staff attorney for former Chief Justice Gerry Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court. Mr. Brown returned home to Montana to work as an associate and senior attorney for the law firm of Doney Crowley Payne Bloomquist, P.C. from 2007-2012. There he practiced in areas of water law, tax probates and estates, government relations, political law, and environmental law and compliance. In 2012, Mr. Brown formed his own law firm. The James Brown Law Office is located in Helena and Dillon, Montana.
