James M. McGovern has been practicing law since 1993 and served six years as an Assistant Ohio Attorney General, three of which were as legal counsel for the State Medical Board of Ohio preparing and prosecuting disciplinary cases against licensees. Since 1999, Mr. McGovern has concentrated his practice upon defending professionals against charges brought by the Ohio Board of Nursing, State Medical Board of Ohio, Ohio Board of Pharmacy, Ohio State Dental Board and other professional regulatory boards. Mr. McGovern has represented well over three hundred licensees / potential licensees before the healthcare related professional regulatory boards in Ohio. He also routinely spends time assisting clients engaged in disputes with employers and third party payers. Mr. McGovern is admitted and qualified to practice before the U. S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and all the state courts of Ohio.
