Mark Maritote was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, leaving Chicago to attend Spring Hill College in Mobile Alabama before returning to attend law school at the DePaul University College of Law, where he graduated in 1981. Mr. Maritote has represented negligence victims and injured workers his entire career and has tried over 50 cases to jury verdict. Notable among his verdicts are the first Medical Malpractice verdict in Morgan County, Illinois; a long standing record verdict in Mason County, Illinois and at the time record $2 Million against the Grand Trunk Railroad on behalf of a 65 year old grandmother killed when a truck in which she was a passenger was hit by a train. Most recently, Mr. Maritote obtained a $250,000 verdict for a man maligned on Facebook, as well as a $500,000 verdict against PACE Bus in a low impact, no visible damage claim. Mr. Maritote has lectured other lawyers on wrongful death claims as well as aspects of the Workers' Compensation Act.
