Megan Falsafi focuses her practice in all areas of family law, including divorce, maintenance (formerly known as alimony), child support and child related expenses, allocation of parental responsibilities, including decision-making and parenting time, division of assets and debts, post divorce disputes including enforcement of Judgments, domestic violence issues, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Megan began her legal career in 2014 while working for the longest standing States Attorney in Illinois. Megan helped the former States Attorney open his own private practice, where they practiced family law. Several years later, Megan has now opened her own law practice with a partner, Anne Leone, where she helps implement the multiple techniques and strategies that she has developed over the years in order to help achieve the best outcomes for her clients during the hardest times of their lives.
Megan has worked at the United States Attorney’s Office and as a Victim Advocate. Upon earning her Juris Doctorate Degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and starting her family in the Northwestern suburbs, Megan knew that practicing family law would quickly become her passion and career.
Megan has extensive experience working at several prestigious family law firms in Lake County, Illinois. Most recently, Megan was named a partner as a result of her dedication and strong commitment to her clients. Not only does Megan play an integral role in her clients’ lives, but Megan is also very involved in the legal community. Megan serves on the board of the Association of Woman Attorneys of Lake County. Megan is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Lake County Bar Association. Megan is always participating in continuing legal education opportunities to ensure that she is up to date and knowledgeable of all developments in the law in order to zealously advocate for her clients. Megan’s completion of the Guardian Ad Litem training and background advocating for victims gives Megan a specialized understanding and devotion to help clients dealing with complicated custody disputes achieve an outcome that is in the best interest of the children. Megan is well-versed in complex financial issues and has experience dealing with the division of businesses acquired during the marriage.
