Omid Shirazi Tax Law

Omid Johan Shirazi's practice focuses on federal, state, and international tax services for a range of clients, including domestic, international business entities, and individuals. He has advised clients on income tax treaty implications, FATCA and FBAR filing requirements. He has additionally worked on tax-efficient transactions and structures in the context of Federal and state inbound and outbound royalty, dividend, and interest payment. Omid has also counseled a number of charitable and nonprofit organizations on incorporation, applications for federal and state tax exemptions, annual filing requirements and other tax issues. Omid focuses his practice on tax controversy, tax planning, and complex transactional matters for businesses, individuals and professionals. When representing clients faced with complex issues, Mr. Shirazi draws on his legal experience at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, as well as his background as a CPA with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Squar Milner, to most effectively provide counsel and advise clients. Omid's background, both in private practice and at the IRS, provides him with the tools to assess the strengths and risks of each issue, negotiate favorable settlements with the government and, if necessary, litigate the matter before the appropriate court. He earned his B.S. from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business before attending UC Hastings Law School, where he earned his J.D.
