P. James Rainey Elder Law

Founding attorney P. James Rainey handles estate planning, elder law, and serious personal injury cases at Rainey & Rainey. He has more than 2 decades of legal experience and is Board-Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is passionate about protecting the rights of the injured, disabled, and elderly. James graduated from the University of North Dakota magnum cum laude with a BBA and is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law. At Baylor, he received the Hulen D. Wendorf evidence award and the Loy Simpkins marital property award. He served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Army Reserve for 10 years while maintaining his private practice. James is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco. James is committed to remaining involved in the legal community, to sharing his knowledge with others, and to furthering his education and experience as much as possible. He teaches elder law at Baylor University School of Law and is a frequent speaker on estate planning and elder law. He is certified by the State Bar of Texas to work as a guardian ad litem on guardianship cases and is licensed by the State of Texas to provide continuing education to social workers. James is a proud Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, one of the highest honors a member of the State Bar of Texas can hope to receive.
