Petro Kostiv resides in Los Angeles and runs the main office of the firm. Petro's areas of practice include various aspects of business law, bankruptcy, and immigration. Petro focuses on helping foreign investors to open and develop their businesses in the United States. Petro also advises American individuals and businesses on how to succeed in foreign business environments. Petro has experience in working in the former Soviet Bloc, Latin America, and China. Petro is currently working on establishing permanent and official presence of the firm in other countries. For his undergraduate degree, Petro attended UC Berkeley where he was a recipient of Regents and Chancellors Scholarship, the most prestigious scholarship offered by University of California. petro kostiv Then he was sent by UC Berkeley to work in South Africa, where he eventually received an MA in Political Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. Consequently, he completed his JD at the University Of Michigan School Of Law in Ann Arbor, where he was president of Latin America Law Society. While at the University of Michigan, Petro spent a summer working at the Supreme Court of Argentina and studying Argentine law at a law school in Buenos Aires. Petro is Vice President of the Ukrainian-American Bar Association and an active member of Inter-American Bar Association and Beverly Hills Bar Association. He lectured on various occasions at universities in Latin America, Ukraine, South Africa and China. In Ukraine, Petro initiated a course in English called "Introduction to U.S. Law." Every week, Petro writes articles on legal topics in for several Spanish language newspapers in the Los Angeles area. Petro is admitted to the California State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Petro is fluent in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese as well as his native Ukrainian and Russian. Outside his career, Petro's biggest passion is to travel the world. By now, he has visited over 80 countries.
