Mr. Roberts attended Atlanta Law School and earned his J.D. in 1977. Mr. Roberts was admitted to the following bar associations in 1977: Georgia, U.S. District Court and Northern District of Georgia, U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. In 2008, he started the law firm of R. Stephen Roberts, P.C. in Decatur, Georgia and has been recognized as one of the leading trial attorneys in the state of Georgia. Mr. Roberts belongs to various professional associations including Decatur – DeKalb and Atlanta Bar Associations; State Bar of Georgia; Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and 1000 Lawyers of Justice.
