Rebecca Harasimowicz Intellectual Property Law

Rebeca (Becky) is a registered Patent Attorney and serves as Senior Associate in the area of Intellectual Property Law. Since joining Summa PLLC, Becky has gained experience in patent drafting, prosecution, examiner interviews; PTAB appeals; international patent prosecution; licensing; contested trademark matters, preparing and prosecuting applications for US Federal trademark registration; and contested trademark oppositions. Becky is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Wake Forest University School of Law. She earned a triple major at Mount Holyoke that included Biomedical Ethics. At Wake Forest, she earned her JD and an MA in Bioethics. Becky won the Best Brief award at the rigorous Stanley Moot Court Competition and was later named to Chair of that event. In addition, Becky was on the Editorial Board of the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law and served as President of the Hispanic and Latino Law Student Association, the Women in Law Society, and of the Student Bar Association. In 2013, Becky served as Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Jimmie V. Reyna, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Washington, D.C. The Charlotte community will benefit from Becky’s commitment to community service, including Habitat for Humanity and her work as a Spanish Translator for the Legal Aid of North Carolina. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Korean, having spent a year teaching school in Seoul Korea.
