Reema Batrwz-Bazy was born in Baghdad, Iraq, emigrated to the U.S. as a Refugee with her parents in 1995. She grew up in Oak Park, a small city in Michigan, attended Ferndale High School. She later obtained two Associate's Degrees with Cum Laude Honors in Applied Science in Paralegal, and in Liberal Arts from Oakland Community College; a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with Highest Honors from Davenport University; and a Juris Doctor Degree with Cum Laude Honors from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School and is a member of the Michigan State Bar. She is also a Certified General Civil Mediator, a dispute resolution service sought by parties who decide to resolve their differences in a private setting-most of the time to avoid court and extensive fees while reaching a binding agreement.
