Robert Morgenstern is a founding principal of Maranga|Morgenstern, now known as Morgenstern Law Group. With more than 40 years of experience representing clients in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases in the commercial trucking, products liability, and other casualty fields, Mr. Morgenstern is recognized as one of the most successful and accomplished trial attorneys in the industry.
After earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977, Robert Morgenstern relocated with his family to Southern California. Adapting to his new home, Mr. Morgenstern enrolled in Southwestern Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1980.
Shortly after graduating from law school, Robert Morgenstern joined the firm of Yusim, Stein & Hanger as a law clerk and within a short period of time, he became a partner. He joined his current firm in 1993 when it was Garcia, Emmons, Maranga & Morgenstern. The firm eventually became Maranga|Morgenstern in 2002 and Morgenstern Law Group in 2020.
In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Morgenstern has been recognized by Loyola Law Schools Civil Justice Program as a Champion of Justice in 2017 and was named as Outstanding Litigator by Southwestern Law School that same year. He has continually been named by SuperLawyer Magazine as being in the top 5 percent of attorneys in his field in since 2009.
Mr. Morgenstern has served as President of the California Defense Counsel in 2013; is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers; and is a Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), where he has participated in their Masters in Trial program.
Mr. Morgenstern is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, The Trial Lawyer Honorary Society and a member of the Trial Law Institute of Diversity Law Institute.
Mr. Morgenstern was the 2019 President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ABOTA. He also served as President of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel in 2009, and is former Chairman of the Board of Hathaway Children's and Family Services.
Mr. Morgenstern will be serving as Vice President of CAL-ABOTA in 2024, and will become President in 2026.
