Buzzi L. Shindler is the Litigation Chair of the Scottsdale office. He has extensive experience and tried-and-true expertise handling a broad range of commercial, transactional and litigation matters, with an emphasis on real estate and business transactions, business formation, governance and operations, estate planning, outside general counsel, and commercial, real estate and construction litigation. With respect to the transactional side of his practice, Mr. Shindler represents a wide variety of clients, including individuals, small and large businesses, banks and financial institutions in diverse business and commercial matters and has vast experience in limited liability company and corporate governance, commercial property acquisitions, retail leasing, asset sales and purchases, loan transactions, financial dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation. Mr. Shindler also handles an array of conservatorship and estate planning matters, including drafting of revocable living trust agreements, wills, durable financial and healthcare powers of attorney, and living wills. With regard to the litigation side of his practice, Mr. Shindler handles primarily commercial, real estate and construction disputes, including breach of contract actions, business torts, creditors’ rights and post-judgment enforcement, landlord/tenant matters, mechanics’ lien, and construction defect claims. Attorney Francis J. Slavin practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate purchase contracts, loan foreclosures and loan workouts, condemnation/eminent domain, design and construction defect litigation and real estate development. He holds both an undergraduate and J.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati. He was admitted to the Bar in Ohio in 1968 and in Arizona in 1972 and is currently a member of both State Bar Associations. He is an AV Rated lawyer for over 25 years. Mr. Slavin moved to Arizona from Ohio in 1971 to become vice-president and general counsel of a multi-discipline homebuilding, land development and residential lending company. In addition he has been a member of the Real Estate and Construction Law Sections. Mr. Slavin is a member of the Order of the Coif and Phi Delta Phi. He is the author of Construction Law and Mechanics’ Liens in Arizona, published annually by Professional Educational Systems, Inc. (1980-2006). He served as Judge Pro Tempore, Superior Court of Arizona in the County of Maricopa from 1980-1990. From 1981-1989 he was a member of the City of Phoenix Zoning Ordinance Revision Committee.
