Area of Practice: Defense of Construction Companies and Developers Mr. Cohen is responsible for the handling of significant personal injury and property damage suits through trial. Special areas of concentration include construction litigation, construction contract interpretation and drafting. He is responsible for day to day handling of construction litigation programs including supervising responsible attorneys. Mr. Cohen also handles trials of major construction and premises liability cases.

Jake Cohen is a practicing first-chair trial attorney at Bisnar Chase who deals with civil litigation cases for plaintiffs and consumers. It could also involve helping people on a wider scale by obtaining verdicts against exploitative corporations, forcing them into better practices. Jake is always ready to put his skills to use to protect the rights of his clients and make the world a safer place. Most of the cases he handles involve serious accidents and injuries. These include (but are not limited to) car crashes and other auto incidents, dog attacks, trip or slip-and-fall injuries, and dangerous and defective products. Jake grew up in Venice Beach, California, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in political science. He then graduated Cum Laude with his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. He has worked full-time from the age of 16 until he completed law school to finance his education. Jake’s various roles included working as a personal trainer, in restaurants, and in hospitality. Jake takes great satisfaction from balancing the scales of justice. He said: “I believe in holding wrongdoers accountable and forcing them to compensate those they injure. His first legal experience came as a law clerk with a criminal defense firm.
