Adam S. Gilberg received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he earned a triple major in Philosophy, Political Science, and Religion. Adam earned his law degree from Drexel University, where he was a Merit Scholarship recipient and was awarded CALI’s Best Student Performance Award in Criminal Law. He was subsequently admitted to the Bar by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the New Jersey Supreme Court, and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He began his legal career at a high volume Personal Injury firm representing hundreds of clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He mastered the ability to make full recoveries from Plaintiffs who had chosen the Limited Tort Option on their car insurance. His litigation experience made him an excellent addition to the Liss & Marion family when he joined the firm in April of 2016. In addition to personal injury claims, Adam also represents clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits. A native to the Philadelphia area, Adam attended Harriton High School in Lower Merion where he studied in the International Baccalaureate program. Now a South Philadelphia resident, Adam is active in his South Philly community volunteering with the Friends of Cianfrani Park to continue to preserve and beautify Philadelphia. As an active member of the Philadelphia community, Adam serves as a board member of the Golden Slipper Camp, which provides children in and around the Philadelphia area the opportunity to attend a fantastic summer camp in the Poconos. Adam is also a member of the Human Needs and Resources (HUNAS) committee that awards grants to people and families in financial need.

Heather Gilbert is the Administrative Partner of the firm’s Merrillville office. She also serves as a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Heather focuses her practice on health care litigation, including medical negligence and correctional health care, complex construction, employment, products liability, breach of contract, premises liability, transportation, professional negligence, and wrongful death matters. Heather maintains an aggressive motion practice, has obtained numerous pretrial dismissals for her clients, and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and for the Indiana Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Cassiday Schade, Heather worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, where she represented the City and its employees in personal injury cases. Her work included successfully drafting and arguing several motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, as well as serving as lead counsel at numerous arbitrations and jury trials in Cook County, Illinois. Heather also worked for a Chicago law firm where she focused her practice on medical negligence, with an emphasis on hospital liability, and handled cases involving a wide range of medical specialties. While in law school, Heather served as an extern for the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She was also a member of the Student Bar Association and served as Executive Articles Editor for Health Matrix: Journal of Law and Medicine. Heather is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Indiana State Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers’ Association of Indiana. Her primary practice areas include appeals and civil litigation. Ms. Gilbert is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the William S. Boyd School of Law. Ms. Gilbert also has a Masters in Business Administration, with honors, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy. Ms. Gilbert was a member of the appellate unit and litigation department of a large regional law firm, with an emphasis on trial briefing, post-judgment motions, and appeals. Ms. Gilbert also has experience in matters dealing with consumer protection statutes, home mortgage litigation and foreclosure in both state and federal court. Ms. Gilbert is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Nevada and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Gilbert has argued multiple times before the Nevada Supreme Court on issues related to NRS Chapter 116, including the landmark case, SFR Investments Pool 1, LLC v. U.S. Bank, N.A., 130 Nev. Adv. Op. 75, 334 P.3d 402 (Sept. 18, 2014). Arguing on behalf of appellants, many of Ms. Gilbert’s other arguments resulted in reversals and remands for the client. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Appellate Litigation Group of the State Bar of Nevada.
