Gary Klein serves as Weitz & Luxenberg’s managing attorney — he is responsible for all day-to-day operations and for determining which prospective negligence cases to accept based on a meticulous assessment of the injuries claimed, the time frames in which they occurred and many other considerations that shape a litigation’s chances for success (the many clients with whom he meets find his kindly demeanor and ability to empathize most reassuring during this process). Mr. Klein is also an accomplished negotiator who actively participates in settlement discussions as they arise — his involvement is one reason why Weitz & Luxenberg has been able to consistently secure such substantial sums (often reaching seven figures) from defendants who conclude that a fight in court will end badly for them. Mr. Klein has been associated with Weitz & Luxenberg co-founders Perry Weitz and Arthur Luxenberg since 1988, the same year he began the practice of law. Mr. Klein is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and before the U.S. District Court in New Jersey and in the Southern and Eastern districts of New York. Mr. Klein studied law at Hofstra University, from which he earned a juris doctor degree in 1988. Originally from the Canadian province of Quebec, Mr. Klein is fluent in French — an invaluable ability when it comes to assisting clients for whom the Gallic tongue is their only or primary language (he also speaks Hungarian, Yiddish and limited Hebrew). The American Association of Justice, New York State Trial Lawyers Assn., New York State Bar Assn., New York County Bar Assn., Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, Jewish Lawyers Guild are organizations in which Mr. Klein currently maintains membership.

Lawrence H. Kleiner was first admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1991 after studying at Rutgers University and the Dickinson School of Law (now the Penn State School of Law). Larry spent the earlier part of his legal career defending insurance companies and self-insured businesses against various types of personal injury claims, as well as "errors and omissions" claims against insurance brokers. In 1995, Larry stopped defending insurance carriers and founded a law firm specializing in plaintiffs' personal injury work, commercial litigation, criminal defense, family law, and zoning/municipal law. Since then, Larry has practiced exclusively in these areas. Making good use of his insurance defense experience, Larry has handled thousands of contested matter and tried numerous matters to conclusion before both a trial judge and juries. For 24 years, Larry has been a trial lawyer with his own style and accomplishments. While a settled matter may be preferable, it is a fact that not all cases will settle and those that don't must be resolved in Court before either a trial judge or a jury. While many lawyers will talk the talk during the pendency of the litigation, far fewer attorneys are able to "walk the walk." Larry walks the walk. In recognition of his trial experience, Larry has been designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Certified Civil Trial Attorneys designations are granted by the New Jersey Supreme Court only to attorneys who are able to demonstrate efficient levels of education, experience, knowledge, and skill in civil trial practice. Less than 2% of attorneys in New Jersey Have the honor of this recognition. Larry is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association, the New Jersey Association of Justice (NJAJ) where he previously served on its Board of Governors, and is a former member of the Richard J. Hughes Inn of Court. Larry also serves as an arbitrator for the Bergen County Civil Arbitration Program.
