Bryan has been a trial lawyer since 1991 and has extensive experience litigating unique and complex entertainment, real estate, employment and commercial disputes. Bryan\'s wide ranging experience, including a vast knowledge of asset based judgment collection, allows the client the opportunity to not only successfully litigate a case through trial but also be able to collect assets to satisfy the judgment through both domestic and international mechanisms and resources. Bryan\'s trial experience includes successfully defending numerous large corporations and achieving multimillion dollar verdicts on behalf of real estate development companies. Bryan and his partner, Michael Taitelman (also named a Southern California Super Lawyer and Rising Star) have been friends since their college days at the University of California at Berkeley, and started Freedman + Taitelman, LLP in 1997 to provide the same large firm litigation expertise and aggressiveness along with smaller firm client attention and efficient cost management.

Since graduating from law school 24 years ago, John Freeman has only practiced criminal law. Working first as a prosecutor in New York and Detroit and then as a defense attorney, he has handled nearly every type of criminal case. These have included cases involving high-level federal crimes, state crimes, drug crimes, violent crimes, computer crimes, and white collar crimes. Mr. Freeman believes that every person accused of a crime deserves a strong defense. Mr. Freeman understands the critical importance of keeping up with changes in the law. He receives daily electronic updates on new cases and topics of interest nationwide that could impact a client's case. He also regularly attends and lectures at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars focusing on substantive law and trial practice. Mr. Freeman is admitted to the New York and Michigan Bar Associations. He attended Calvin College for his B.A. before attending Temple University School of Law, where he earned his J.D.

In late 2005, Mr. Freeman decided to open a practice in Tacoma, where his family was growing. Mr. Freeman’s connections locally and nationally nourished his practice over time. He has served the local community as well as handling cases in federal courts across the country. Locally, Mr. Freeman has assisted local businesses in such matters as contentious shareholder disputes and individuals in matters ranging from catastrophic injuries to class A felonies as well as lawsuits against insurance companies for bad faith claims practices. He tried a Whatcom County Superior Court case for a bail bond company that resulted in the first appellate law in Washington truly outlining the rights of fugitive recovery agents. He has tried cases in many counties throughout the State of Washington, argued before the Court of Appeals Division I and Division II and the Washington State Supreme Court.

Stephen was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa. At an early age, his life and dreams were disrupted by a protracted 14-year civil war that devastated the nation, destroyed countless lives, and shattered many aspirations. As a result of the conflict, Stephen and his family fled to neighboring Ghana, where he lived until relocating to the United States to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. With 13 years of legal practice, Stephen’s journey has profoundly shaped his legal philosophy and continues to guide the way he approaches every matter he handles and every client he represents. Having experienced adversity firsthand, he understands the importance of advocacy, resilience, and having legal representation. Stephen is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is an experienced, relentless, and results-driven attorney.
