Area of Practice: Attorney Baxter Harwell of the The Harwell Law Firm P.A. has been defending citizens accused of DUI, DWI, DUAC and all Traffic Violations as a lawyer in South Carolina for over twenty years. A native of Florence, SC, he is well known throughout the Myrtle Beach, Grand Strand and the Greater Pee Dee areas of South Carolina. His family is known for generations of civil representation both in legal and political service. Mr. Harwell completed his undergraduate studies in 1983 at a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and completed his legal studies in 1992 at the University of South Carolina School of Law. Gaining valuable experience and important relationships, Baxter has served as a South Carolina Statewide DUI Special Prosecutor for the SC Department of Public Safety (SC Highway Patrol) and is also former Assistant Solicitor of Horry County responsible for heavy felonies and misdemeanors concentrating on DUI law. Baxter is a certified South Carolina Data Master Breath Testing operator and NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Officer.

Jonathan D. Harwell, owner and founder of Harwell Legal Counsel LLC, grew up in Ohio before moving to Indiana in high school. Harwell attended Ball State University, where he majored in legal studies and graduated Cum Laude. He was also a member of the Legal Studies Honor Society before continuing his education at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He graduated with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and Gold Level Pro Bono recognition before beginning his career. Harwell, a member of the Indiana Bar Association, has dedicated himself to serving the legal needs of Indiana’s residents. He practices law in criminal defense law, family law, and several other areas.

After obtaining both her B.A. (Law) and LL.B. degrees from Stellenbosch University in 1994 and 1996 respectively, Kirstie went on to complete her articles at Mostert and Bosman (Cape Town Partnership) and was admitted as an attorney in 1999 whereafter she was invited to stay on as a professional assistant in the general litigation department. She joined Henry Shields Chiat, a specialist personal injury law firm, in 2000 and was promoted to associate in 2002. Kirstie became a director of DSC Attorneys after the merger on 1 May 2004, in which capacity she was inter alia responsible for the oversight of all litigation within the firm. Kirstie was appointed as managing director of DSC Attorneys on 1 December 2010. Kirstie specializes in insurance and personal injury law, where she has had extensive experience conducting both High Court litigation and arbitrations in various jurisdictions, relating to actions against the Road Accident Fund as well as other common law personal injury claims, including medical malpractice litigation. Kirstie frequently receives international referrals and has represented a number of clients from the United Kingdom as well as clients from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Australia, Canada and the United States.

Stephen R. Hasner’s commitment to his family and his faith in God are the most important things in his life. They provide the foundation and purpose that underpin his life and his law practice. He has been practicing law in Florida and Georgia since 1997, after receiving his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens, Florida. Hasner has always focused his practice on workers’ compensation and personal injury cases, initially on the defense side. However, after several years he realized that he wanted to represent the interests of injured and disabled workers rather than insurance companies and made the switch. His early experience defending insurance companies has provided invaluable strategic insight, which has enabled him to guide his clients’ cases to the most optimal outcomes. “It’s very helpful because you know what insurance companies are thinking, how they practice, how they handle and adjust claims,” Hasner says.
