Mr. Schack received a degree in Economics from Rutgers College in 1978. In December of 1981, he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law (State Bar No. 99126). In 1985 he passed the California CPA exam (although he is not a C.P.A.) and received an LL.M in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. He was employed by the former “big six” accounting firms of Arthur Andersen and Company (Los Angeles) and KPMG Peat Marwick (San Diego) for approximately four years. His client list included MGM, Wickes Furniture, Circus Circus, S.E. Rykoff, Ernest Borgnine, Santa Catalina Island Co., San Diego Hall of Champions, National Pen, etc. Since 1988, Mr. Schack has represented both consumers and businesses in numerous complex litigation lawsuits. He has orally argued before the Fourth Appellate District and Second Appellate District on at least five separate occasions. In one case in particular, the Fourth Appellate District - Division One, set aside approximately two hours for appellate discussion to analyze the antitrust jurisdiction of a Superior Court to hear an action under the Cartwright Act for price fixing against the cellular telephone carriers in light of the jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission to approve cellular telephone rates. That appellate discussion resulted in the published opinion of Cellular Plus v. Superior Court, 14 Cal.App.4th 1224 (cert.denied July 1, 1993). This opinion has twice been the subject of articles in Competition - the Journal of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of California. He also is a former adjunct professor at the University of San Diego.

A registered nurse was her first career working in pediatrics and maternal child health for 10 years until graduating from New England School of Law and passing the Bar in 1998 . Attorney Schaefer initially worked for the Massachusetts HMO Association as staff counsel her first year out of law school and began her own practice in 1999. Mr. Schanker’s primary profession is that of a trial lawyer. His cases are spread throughout the nation, and he has tried different types of injury cases as the lead counsel in many federal and state courts all over America. With a focus on his home state of Colorado, he has litigated and tried cases stretching from Alaska to Florida; New York to California. Darin has had great success in court, including achieving the largest medical malpractice jury verdict ever in Colorado history, and the largest compensatory defective hip jury verdict in America. The Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, founded in 1953, is the largest specialty bar association in the state. Ultimately, it seeks to improve America’s system of jurisprudence for everyone. Over the years, Mr. Schanker has given countless lectures on trial skills to both local and national audiences. Darin’s abilities have been recognized by his peers at various institutions such as the American Association of Justice (AAJ), the Colorado Bar Association, and Harris Martin. Mr. Schanker is an experienced and respected figure when it comes to voir dire, which is the process of jury selection. Darin knew that voir dire was a crucial component to the outcome of every trial, so he made it his mission to extensively study this subject. His methodology is so successful that attorneys all around the nation have decided to adopt it. Darin provides lectures and consultations to attorneys throughout the nation on this particular subject. Darin has worked to create legislation that benefits consumers and has testified multiple times at the Capitol on topics related to insurance law with the goal of protecting consumer rights. His work on legislation has largely influenced the laws surrounding accidents and victims in Colorado.
