Marisa C. San Filippo is a Certified Family Law Specialist and a partner in the firm's Family Law Department. Ms. San Filippo handles a wide variety of cases, bringing her tenacity and knowledge to each matter, including: dissolution, legal separation, property characterization and division, child custody and visitation, pre-marital agreements, child and spousal support, paternity matters, domestic partnerships, and complex, high-asset matters. Ms. San Filippo has recent experience with cases involving valuation of business and partnership interests, goodwill, and stock options. Ms. San Filippo is a member of the State Bar of California, as well as the San Mateo County Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Ms. San Filippo earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2008. She also graduated as a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society. While in law school, Ms. San Filippo was a member of the University of San Francisco Law Review and published her comment on real estate valuation in the marital dissolution context in the fall of 2007. She received a CALI Award for Excellence in Family Law in spring 2007 and an award for Best Brief for Moot Court in spring 2006. Ms. San Filippo volunteers her time by handling pro bono cases through the Legal Aid Society's Domestic Violence Collaborative. Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP as a partner, Ms. San Filippo spent the summers after her first and second years of law school with the firm as a law clerk. Ms. San Filippo earned her B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley with high honors. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Marisa C. Ms. San Filippo has experience in cases involving startups, venture capital, and real estate development. Ms. San Filippo is also a highly experienced custody attorney, with a background in issues including gatekeeping, resist-refuse dynamic, relocations/move-aways, substance abuse, special needs, and conflicted co-parenting relationships. Ms. San Filippo has extensive experience drafting and negotiating intricate pre-marital and post-marital agreements. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. San Filippo enjoys supporting clients through mediation as a consulting attorney. Upon graduation, she joined Flicker, Kerin Kruger & Bissada as an associate and became a partner with the firm in 2016. Ms. San Filippo was born and raised on the Peninsula, where she currently resides, and strives to support the legacy of community service instilled in her by her parents. She serves on the Board of Sigma 1916, the housing corporation associated with her college sorority. She has also volunteered her time supporting events for the Sequoia Hospital Foundation in honor of her late father and now serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Rolando Sanchez is the newest member of the Colbert Law team. Born to Roberto and Cary Sanchez, he was born and raised in the Orlando area he now serves. After finishing high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served honorably as an Avionics Technician on the F-15E Fighter Aircraft. When he returned home to Orlando from his military service, he attended the University of Central Florida. There, he earned his BSBA in Finance and graduated cum laude in 2012. He then moved on to Barry University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2016. Rolando is proud to have also earned the 2016 John Modica Mentorship Award. During his time at Barry University, he served as the founding member of the Veterans Legal Society and also was a Dean’s Writing Fellow. Rolando Sanchez is also fluent in Spanish, and helps us better serve our Spanish-speaking clients. He hopes to be able to continue the legacy of this most honored profession and gain the respect and admiration of his colleagues in the legal field as well as that of the community he serves.

Juan is the youngest son of Cuban immigrants who arrived in the U.S. in 1963. Both parents became naturalized citizens in 1975 and instilled in Juan a love for this country and a devotion to those in need. Juan is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and has been practicing law since 1995. He is licensed in both Florida and North Carolina. After law school, Juan served as an Assistant State Attorney for Florida in Fort Myers for 2 years before moving back to Miami. In Miami, Juan served as in-house counsel for a national insurance company as an insurance defense attorney. He held that same position when he transferred to a private firm in Fort Lauderdale. While there, attending a mediation in 2002, Juan realized he was on the wrong side of the table. Shortly thereafter, he opened his own law firm to serve the injured, and he has never looked back. In 2005, he moved to Charlotte and began working for The Olive Law Firm, creating and developing its workers’ compensation department, which he ran for 18 years. In 2023, together with Lee Olive, Juan founded Olive, Sanchez and Associates to continue the longstanding legacy of The Olive Law Firm. Juan has successfully handled thousands of workers’ compensation claims and is a Board-Certified Specialist in that field. He also has extensive experience in personal injury matters. As always, he is eager to help those in need face the challenges that all too often accompany unexpected injuries.
