Paul Slager
Distinguished Lawyer
Medical Malpractice Law

750 E Main St suite 810, Stamford, CT 06902, USA

Paul Slager represents plaintiffs in complex cases where people have suffered life-changing personal or financial injuries. His experience as a tested trial lawyer with significant courtroom experience and skills — as well as a genuine affection for the people he represents — shapes his approach in every case. As a result of his singular focus on helping people, he has helped numerous deserving clients obtain high seven- and eight-figure recoveries after challenging litigation. Mr. Slager has a national reputation as an elite advocate for seriously injured people, but he focuses his law practice on helping people in courts throughout Connecticut. His track record is long, and his history of large recoveries for his clients is well documented. The Connecticut Super Lawyers* publication has repeatedly listed him as one of the Top 10 Attorneys in Connecticut. He is honored to be the only trial attorney to have three different verdicts or settlements inducted as winners in the Connecticut Law Tribune’s Personal Injury Hall of Fame, and the Best Lawyers publication has named Mr. Slager a “Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year” in several plaintiff-centered practice areas many times, including most recently in 2025 and 2026. During 2019-20, Mr. Slager was elected and served as President of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, a bar association that serves more than 1,000-member trial attorneys. He served in that capacity when the COVID pandemic hit, working closely with all stakeholders, including the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut legislature, and the Connecticut Judicial Branch, to respond in real time to the crisis the pandemic created for Connecticut’s court systems. He is an elected member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only membership limited to 500 active lawyers across the United States. Both the Connecticut legislature and the Judicial Branch have appointed him multiple times to committees studying potential improvements in laws providing protections to Connecticut citizens. Mr. Slager pursues serious cases in Connecticut that stem from catastrophic events, including medical malpractice, sexual abuse, violent crimes, interstate trucking crashes, defective consumer products, fires and explosions, brain injuries, and other life-altering events. Consistent with his interest in handling complex cases. He also has pursued cases for businesses and individuals on a contingency fee basis in situations involving significant financial disputes. In keeping with the core principles of Slager Madry, Mr. Slager only accepts cases that involve serious consequences, and only after conducting a detailed investigation to determine cases have merit. He will pursue cases only when doing so will balance an important injustice, improve public safety, or otherwise make a significant positive difference for a family or the larger community.
