I was born in Washington D.C. I attended Ohio State University graduating Phi Beta Kappa. I then received a Master's degree from Columbia University in American Studies. I worked for a non-profit organization (the American Jewish Committee) as the assistant director of their Washington Office while attending law school at night at George Washington University. Upon graduation, I worked in the Land and Natural Resources Office of the Department of Justice as well as the appellate division of that office. I then went into private practice some years later and continue to do so today. While I am primarily a family law lawyer, I have also practiced law on a more general basis at times in a variety of civil law cases.
