First licensed in 1999, Mr. Brown’s background is in ethics and complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate level. He is licensed in nine states (six by exam) and many federal jurisdictions, has represented clients in court in approximately 25 different states, and has extensive experience litigating a broad array of subject matters, including healthcare, construction, environmental, real estate, intellectual property, professional malpractice, and products liability litigation. He began his career in Boston and came to Lowe Yeager & Brown PLLC after practicing for several years in a large Washington, DC, law firm. He is listed by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a Rule 31 civil mediator and attorney mentor, and has testified as an expert witness on subjects related to professional ethics, the Rules of Professional Responsibility, and the standard of care applicable to attorneys practicing in litigation. Based on this broad background, Mr. Brown represents clients in select, complex litigation matters; advises and represents professionals, executives, and public officials regarding ethical, licensing, and professional liability issues; and advises corporate clients regarding conflict avoidance and resolution, often in the healthcare, environmental, and real estate development markets. Levi Brown’s practice involves the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the computer, electrical, and mechanical arts and related strategic counseling. Mr. Brown has been registered as a Patent Agent since 2014 and currently practices before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Brown joined Workman Nydegger in 2015 as a law clerk. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Brown worked as an electrical engineer for the Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation (formerly Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory). There, he assisted in the development of a system-wide calibration program and designed a series of programs to automatically calibrate a large amount of equipment. He also designed various data acquisition systems to extract and synthesize test data. During law school, he initially served as an associate editor for the Penn State Law Review. Later, he became a member of the managing editorial board.

Robert Brown advises on trade, investments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for U.S. companies and foreign companies operating in the U.S., including manufacturing, distribution, sales, retail and wholesale operations. He has worked closely with companies as an investment banker and attorney, serving both in-house and as an outside advisor in Louisville, London, New York City, Tokyo, San Francisco and San Diego. Robert is admitted as an attorney in New York, Washington, D.C., California and Kentucky, and is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and in Hong Kong. From 1991-1993 he was admitted as a foreign lawyer in Japan. He has two PhD. degrees. The first was from Cambridge University and studied Japanese privatization, while the second one was from The London School of Economics and Political Science and dealt with Indonesian legal reforms and creditor relations. He also has a Masters degree from Jochi University in Tokyo, and an Advanced Accounting Certificate from Bellarmine University. Recently, he completed an LL.M in international trade and development from the University of London. During three years of law school, he earned J.D., M.B.A. and Masters Degrees from the University of Louisville. Robert has taught international transaction courses at the law schools of University of California Berkeley, University of San Francisco and University of Louisville, as well as accounting, business, economic and finance courses at the school of business of Bellarmine University, where he served as dean from 2015-16.
