Jeffrey is one of the founding members of Stempel, Catterson, LoFrumento, Carlson, Biondo, LLP. He commenced his legal career in 1998 specializing in all aspects of matrimonial and family law litigation, including, but not limited to: divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, complex business valuations, modification and enforcement issues, and the negotiation and preparation of pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and stipulations of settlements. Jeffrey has represented, and assisted in the representation of, numerous high profile and celebrity clients. He has extensive experience with respect to complex business valuations involving multi-million dollar wage earners and business owners. Jeffrey’s matrimonial and valuation articles have been published in the New York State Bar’s Family Law Review, The Suffolk Lawyer and The Nassau Attorney. He has also lectured for the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association and Suffolk County Bar Association on numerous occasions. Jeffrey’s other areas of practice include personal injury, commercial litigation, general litigation and appellate practice. His personal injury experience involves complex litigation and appellate practice regarding traumatic brain injury, automobile accidents, construction site accidents, municipal liability and slip and fall accidents. Jeffrey has successfully argued before the New York State Appellate Divisions as well as New York State’s highest Court, the Court of Appeals. Jeffrey has been selected to the New York Super Lawyers, voted a Top Attorney in New York by his peers, every year since 2013 and selected as a Top Ten Nationally Ranked Family Law Attorney by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys since 2014. Joanna Diane Caytas is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Houston office. She joined the firm in 2020. Her practice centers on bankruptcy and restructuring as well as related litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Joanna served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Danny J. Boggs on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, sitting by designation also on the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits. She served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Beryl A. Howell, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Joanna draws on her experience as a tax associate at an international law firm, where she focused on tax planning for complex transactions, including corporate restructurings, private and public mergers and acquisitions, private equity, as well as formation and operation of private investment funds, including those investing in digital assets and blockchain technologies. Alexandria Cazares-Perez is a criminal defense attorney licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern District of Texas. She was raised in both the U.S. and Mexico, and is a native bilingual Spanish speaker. Alexandria graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and then obtained her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law. While pursuing her studies, Alexandria tenaciously sought every possible real-life, practical experience related to criminal cases: she interned for the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office; clerked for the Honorable Judge Ricardo H. Hinojosa of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas; clerked for the highest Texas criminal court—the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; worked for the nationally renowned criminal defense law firm of Goldstein, Goldstein, Hilley & Orr; and volunteered at the St. Mary’s University School of Law Criminal Justice Clinic.
