Bryan is a Partner of GHSK and the head of its Matrimonial & Family Law practice. Bryan’s practice embraces a diverse set of clients and the challenging issues they face. Bryan understands the situations many of our family law clients are enduring can be arduous, delicate, and emotional. Bryan approaches each client’s matter with knowledge, compassion, and understanding. He collaborates with clients to determine their desired outcomes and develop creative strategies to achieve them. Bryan provides representation at every level, including complex and sophisticated family law matters for high-net-worth individuals. He handles a wide variety of family law matters, from the negotiation of pre- and postnuptial agreements to separation and divorce proceedings (contested, same-sex, and uncontested). He is a skilled and constructive negotiator when clients attempt to settle issues by agreement, and a powerful advocate when the determination of the Court is necessary. Bryan’s divorce clients face many issues including custody and parenting time/visitation, child support, spousal maintenance/alimony, equitable distribution of assets, as well as domestic violence and orders of protection. He also helps clients traverse the ever-changing landscape of family law as it relates to same-sex couples. Bryan was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers each year since 2020 and earned the recognition of the Top 10 Attorneys under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys in 2019, 2020 and 2021. He frequently presents at various forums discussing divorce and considerations involved such as financial issues and LGBT+ issues. Kara Goodman is a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate family law attorney in Charlotte, North Carolina and the founder of The Goodman Law Firm, PLLC. As a child of parents who divorced before she was 10 years of age, Kara developed a passion for family law at an early age. With over 15 years of experience as a practicing attorney, Kara brings both legal skill and lived empathy to every case. She is also a mentor and resource for other family law attorneys and has taught family law and trial skills to hundreds of attorneys throughout the country. In 2021, Kara left the big firm arena and founded The Goodman Law Firm where she continues to practice family law exclusively.

Mitchell works exclusively in the area of family law. He has significant experience dealing with both parenting-related and financial litigation. Mitchell approaches his cases with the goal of problem solving through the understanding that each client has a unique set of circumstances. Mitchell works closely with his clients throughout the legal process to find reasonable and practical solutions. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Gordon has expertise conducting settlement conferences, drafting marital settlement agreements, parenting agreements, and pre and post-nuptial agreements. Furthermore, he is a skilled appellate advocate, having litigated numerous family law cases at the Appellate Court level. In 2012, Mitchell’s book, Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements, was published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) and is their most comprehensive authority on the drafting and enforcement of pre and post-nuptial agreements. Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements provides practical instruction on negotiating the best terms for clients, implications of estate planning and tax law, and ethical considerations. He earned his B.A. from the University of Iowa before attending Chicago-Kent School of Law, where he earned his J.D.
