Ms. Harding is a Las Vegas native who graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law and is admitted to the Nevada Bar and licensed to practice in the Nevada Federal District Court. Advocating for her clients' rights and ensuring those rights are protected has always been her passion. Ms. Harding initially focused her practice on personal injury and workers' compensation but found her true calling in family law. She finds it deeply rewarding to help clients reach resolutions in their family disputes and has represented hundreds of clients in matters including divorce, custody, child support, guardianship, termination of parental rights, and adoptions. In addition to family law, Ms. Harding has extensive experience in personal injury and criminal matters. Ms. Harding is deeply committed to serving her community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered as a mediator and helped protect hundreds of tenants from eviction while ensuring homeowners received the necessary funds to pay their mortgages. She has also volunteered for the "Ask a Lawyer" program, represented foster children in dependency actions, and accepted pro bono cases through Southern Nevada Legal Aid. Ms. Harding was honored to be recognized by Southern Nevada Legal Aid for her commitment to pro bono work in the Las Vegas community. During law school, Ms. Harding received the prestigious Capstone Award for her upper-division writing requirement. During her undergraduate studies, she was inducted into several honor societies, including Sigma Xi Honors Research Society, Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society, and Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. She was also active in theatrical performances and received a scholarship for her leading roles in various productions. Laurel attended California State University San Marcos and graduated cum laude with a degree in Psychology. She attended California Western School of Law and was the Vice President of Children’s Legal Society and received awards for her legal research/writing and ethics in law school. While attending college and law school, Laurel worked as a legal assistant for Cynthia Ann Harris and amassed 10 years of legal experience prior to being being admitted to the California State Bar in 2020. With this experience, she was able to hit the ground running and successfully litigated and presented complex legal arguments at her first trial just months after becoming an attorney in a matter involving breach of fiduciary duty, sanctions and attorney’s fees, division of assets and debts, and spousal support. She has experience in filing and opposing Move-Aways, parenting plans involving three parents, a fairly new concept in California, termination and modification of Spousal Support (Alimony), domestic violence restraining orders, with vast knowledge of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act (DVPA) and the California Family Code, and high conflict Child Custody and Child Visitation. She has successfully negotiated private Civil Agreements between neighbors, advanced and opposed Civil Harassment Restraining Orders, and participated in negotiation with the City of Vista in a residential nuisance/condemnation Action. With her tenacious attitude, up to date knowledge of the law and current case law, and compassion, she is able to effectively and efficiently represent her clients, both in the courtroom and as a tough negotiator. Laurel has successfully assisted clients in expungements of records, which allows clients to advance in their careers, future attorneys in completing their California Moral Character Application, from completion of the process through the Investigation, and was co-counsel for a multiple co-defendant murder case which included gang enhancements. Lori attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana where she received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. In 1990, Lori moved to Houston, Texas, and enrolled in the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Over the past 14 years, her practice has evolved into a family life practice which includes all areas of family law, business transactions, estate planning, real estate, agriculture, civil litigation, select personal injury claims and water law.
