Mr. Mason began his legal career as a clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Richard B. Kellam from 1984-1985. He then served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk, Virginia for three years. Since, Mr. Mason has engaged in private practice focusing on civil litigation. He has tried over 200 workers’ compensation defense and civil trials. Mr. Mason has over 25 published opinions in various case reporters and is a frequent speaker at business and professional associations on workers’ compensation and other issues. He is a member of the Newport News, Virginia, American, and Federal Bar Associations, as well as the Virginia State Bar. He is past president of the Newport News Bar Association and has been appointed by the Judges of the Newport News Circuit Court to serve as a substitute Judge in the General District Courts in Virginia.

Attorney Rudolph L. Massa is the founding partner of our law firm. He has spent his entire career working to find justice for his clients. Attorney Massa has remained vigilant in the fight against inadequate health care and ruthless health insurance companies. With a strong interest in medicine, ‘Rudy’ attended The Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Further to his interests in the practice of medicine, he then attended and graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago. As a chiropractic physician, Dr. Rudolph Massa practiced for many years in South Florida until a neck injury ended his medical practice. While recovering from this life-altering tragedy, he shifted his interest into practicing law. He then attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. As a law student, he served as law review editor and as the American Bar Association student representative for the University of Miami. Because of his strong roots in Western Pennsylvania, after law school, Rudy brought his family home to Pittsburgh to establish his law firm, with the intent to help permanently scarred victims of medical and nursing home neglect or abuse, and those harmed by vaccines. Having been involved in medicine for nearly all his adult life, coupled with his law practice focus on medical cases, Rudy knows the safety rules that are designed to keep all patients safe. When hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, or other medical providers don’t follow patient safety rules and someone gets hurt, Rudy and his team will work tirelessly to get the justice that is deserved. One of Rudy’s major accomplishments in the field of Medical Malpractice is the Miller case, which remains the largest verdict in a medical malpractice case in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. After graduating law school, Gary began working in a large law firm where his practice focused mainly on insurance defense and large corporate matters. In December 2000, Gary joined with Bill Speek and opened Massey & Speek, PC. Since then, Gary has focused his practice on helping the disadvantaged enforce their rights against those who mistreat them. In 2006, Gary and Bill parted ways, and the firm name was changed to Massey & Associates, PC. In the spring of 2025, the firm name was updated to Gary Massey Injury Lawyers.
