James Ughetta is the Leader of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Team. His practice emphasizes litigation and preventive counseling in the field of product liability. He also handles governmental regulatory compliance including recalls, appeals, insurance-related matters, contract disputes, drafting of and guidance pertaining to vendor and business agreements, and asset and stock purchase agreements, and provides guidance on corporate matters. Mr. Ughetta has extensive trial experience representing companies in high exposure cases on a local and national level. His clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to newly created and well-established privately held companies. A representative sampling of products defended in litigation include helmets, motorcycles, ski equipment, seat belts, tires, fitness equipment, UTVs, agricultural equipment, outdoor power equipment, consumer and commercial products, industrial equipment, medical devices and electrical cords/cables. Jay has more than 30 years experience devoted exclusively to representing creditors. Mr. Umansky is licensed to practice law both in the states of Missouri and Illinois. Mr. Umansky has unique experience in solving the receivable issues of health care providers and is a specialist in their collection needs. Mr. Umansky has been called to testify as an expert witness in litigation dealing with creditors’ rights issues. Mr. Umansky has lectured before the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Guild of Patient Accounts Managers, the Clinic Managers Association of Greater St. Louis, the Midwest Healthcare Management Association, and the Bar Association of Greater St. Louis. Mr. Umansky has also been a faculty member speaking before attorneys at seminars sponsored by the Commercial Law League of America, the National Business Institute, Lorman Business Institute, and the University of Missouri, Kansas City Law School.

William D.
