Jarrel L. Wigger was born in Wiesbaden, West Germany, in 1963 while his dad was stationed overseas in the United States Air Force. He grew up in Anderson, South Carolina. He has a B.A. Degree from the Citadel, where he lettered 4 years in wrestling, had cadet rank, and was on the training cadre for two years. He earned his Juris Doctorate Degree at Wake Forest University. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1988; the United States Supreme Court in 1996; United States Court of Military Appeals, 1991; United States Federal District Court, 1992; and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2002. He is a member of the Board of Governors, Workers' Compensation Claimant's Attorneys Association, Nominating Committee, South Carolina Workers' Compensation Claimant's Attorneys' Association, American Association for Justice, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, Speakers Bureau (1995); Medical Legal Liaison Committee (1996). He was named to Who's Who in American Law and was Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a group formed to recognize attorneys with a case in excess of two million dollars. He has been designated as a "Super Lawyer" for a number of years. He served as a Navy Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1988 to 1992 and was in Desert Shield and the Panamanian action. He tried cases in Bahrain, Panama, Puerto Rico and Cuba. He has brought cases in almost all of South Carolina's counties and in 28 states. He has two children, a daughter, Amy and a son, Jordan.
