Heidi Bernstein manages our matrimonial, family law and criminal and traffic law practice. Heidi has been a practicing attorney for over twenty-eight years with extensive experience in matrimonial and family court matters, prenuptial agreements, separation agreements and post-nuptial agreements in addition to handling educational law issues, criminal and traffic matters, and mental health and drug court cases. Heidi has won numerous trials involving custody, child support, maintenance, and equitable distribution. Heidi has successfully represented clients in divorce actions, criminal contempt proceedings, family offense matters, and relocation petitions. Ms. Bernstein has handled same ­sex family court and matrimonial actions and has secured parental rights to same­ sex partners before the passing of the Marriage Equality Act in 2011. Heidi draws on her perspective as a trial lawyer to counsel and advocate for clients facing these and other significant life events.

Jordana Better is an experienced family law attorney whose practice focuses on dissolution, support issues, high-value asset separations, and child custody disputes. With a goal-oriented approach, she focuses on seeking settlement when possible while preparing the best/strongest case for trial, in case necessary. Jordana has practiced throughout the state of California but has extensive expertise in Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Bay Area. Jordana graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a double major in Communications and Political Science. After college, she became a Marketing Director in the Bay Area, prior to following her passion for the law and attending Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, she clerked for the Hon. Ralph C. Hofer, in the Los Angeles County Family Law Courts, was a founding member of the SUCOL Divorce Clinic, was a student attorney for Utica Corporate Counsels Office, and clerked for one of the top divorce firms in the Bay Area.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. I earned my Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law. Before law school, I attended the University at Buffalo and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Financial Analysis and Human Resources Management. Over the years, I gained a wide range of experience. I’ve maintained a small legal practice in addition to working for large global companies in the fields of finance, regulatory and social compliance, engineering, and business development. Balancing a career as an attorney with more traditional business employment has provided me with unique experience and insight. As an attorney, I’ve handled a wide range of cases, including matrimonial, family, vehicle and traffic, criminal, consumer, personal injury, real estate, employment, estate planning, and elder law. Although I continue to maintain a general practice law firm, in recent years I’ve narrowed the focus of my practice to Family Law, Estate Planning, and Real Estate in order to better service my clients.

Lauren Biloski is a 2000 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.  Lauren then went to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated in 2003 with a B.A. degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish. Immediately following graduation in 2003, Lauren Biloski pursued her dream and attended the Robert H. McKinney, School of Law, Indiana University. Lauren Biloski graduated in 2006 with her J.D. and wanted to return to East Tennessee and provide assistance to a community that allowed her to flourish. Lauren returned back to Oak Ridge in October of 2006 and has loved having an active local practice. In 2012, Lauren joined and partnered with Michael Ritter to form Ritter & Biloski in Oak Ridge. Since 2012, Lauren has handled a wide variety of cases but still focused her practice on juvenile law, family law, and criminal defense. Lauren is a member of the Anderson County Bar Association, Knox County Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and American Bar Association.

Tim graduated from Virginia Tech at the top of his class, receiving his undergraduate degree with honors. Tim went on to receive his law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary and began practicing law in 1995. In his early career, Tim was a partner in a large Northern Virginia law firm where, in addition to having a private practice, he served as a Commissioner in Chancery, Motions Conciliator, and Neutral Case Evaluator for the 19th Judicial District.
