Mr. Copeland is a graduate of Dartmouth College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. He is a law school graduate of George Washington University where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1987. He is a litigation attorney specializing in criminal defense (state and federal), with a portion of his practice limited to select civil cases. In 2007, he was selected by famed Michael Jackson attorney Tom Mesereau to be guest speaker at the inaugural opening of the MEV Legal Clinic in association with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. He is a member of the California Bar and admitted to practice in both the Central and Southern Districts. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Erin Copeland currently serves as the court-appointed Lead of the Paragard (birth control) MDL pending in the Northern District of Georgia and Co-Lead of the Suboxone MDL pending in the Northern District of Ohio. She serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee of the Hair Relaxer MDL pending in the Northern District of Illinois. Previously, from 2017 to 2022, Erin served on the Executive Committee for the Essure consolidated state litigation in California, where she and her team oversaw the claims of thousands of women who suffered severe and permanent injuries as a result of the Essure permanent sterilization birth control device. In August 2020, she helped to negotiate a $1.6 billion settlement with Bayer to resolve the Essure litigation. Erin also served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the various female pelvic mesh MDLs pending in the Southern District of West Virginia as well as the Pradaxa litigation pending in the Southern District. In the Pradaxa litigation, Erin served as State-Federal Liaison Counsel to the cases pending in St. Clair County, Illinois. Erin is often invited to speak on a variety of legal issues at both judicial and general legal conferences. She also serves on the board of several legal organizations, including the American Association for Justice and Texas Women Rainmakers. Erin is a native Houstonian who practices with the Houston-based law firm Fibich Leebron Copeland & Briggs. Erin and her family split time between Houston and Colorado where her son was a competitive snowboarder before attending golf school.

David E. Copple\'s litigation practice is regional in scope. Sean Cordero has been part of the Cordero bankruptcy family practice from his early years. For the past eight years, not only has he developed an understanding of the concept of hard work and dedication to the legal representation of clients with consumer debt issues, he also recognizes the special responsibility attorneys have in advising and guiding clients in the right direction. After graduating from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a Bachelor’s degree (Special Honors), in Finance at the acclaimed Cox School of Business, and has continued the Cordero family tradition of receiving his law degree from St. Thomas School of Law located in Miami, Florida. During his law school career, he has taken advantage in working for the law firm and learning the complicated consumer bankruptcy system, concentrating in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 court litigation departments. Mr. Cordero also received numerous awards at St. Thomas School of law, including Dean’s list and Top Student list accomplishments. Currently, he is employed as one of the lead attorneys in the Chapter 13 support litigation, directing his concentration in the areas of Trustee review and confirmations. He will be focusing on court calendars, including the tri-county areas, Dade, Broward, and West Palm Beach counties.
