Carolina I. Nunez, Esq. attended the University of Central Florida and earned a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science and International Relations along with a minor in European Studies. She then earned a Juris Doctorate from Barry University — Dwayne O’ Andreas School of Law. Prior and during law school, Carolina has worked in real estate, short sales, foreclosures, and bankruptcies. She volunteered her time with both tax and bankruptcy clinics -- where she worked one on one with the Central Florida community. Carolina was raised in Los Angeles, California by her Colombian parents. She is known for being able to provide clients with understanding, communication, and compassion during the difficult time of dealing with a legal issue fluently in both Spanish and English. She is prepared to provide her clients with transparent communication in order to provide the highest possible recovery and justice. Carolina enjoys traveling, playing Call of Duty, astronomy, rescuing or aiding animals in need, and powerlifting on her time off. She has three German Shepherds: Lukas, Rambo, and Luna. She has been featured on Ahora Con Oscar Haza and Univision - Orlando.

Joseph N. Nusbaum is a bilingual (Spanish) native of the South Florida area, having graduated from high school in Miami Beach. He attended the University of Miami, where he received his B.A. in 1993. Joe then spent one year as a middle school teacher before attending Nova Southeastern University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1997. While attending law school, Joe was selected as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where he was responsible for leading several jury trials that lead to DUI criminal convictions. Now a partner in the firm, Joe specializes in matters dealing in Medical Malpractice, Auto Accidents, Faulty or Unsafe Products, Premises Liability, and Nursing Home Negligence. His trial accomplishments include the well-publicized matter of Amora v. State of Florida, Department of Children and Families that resulted in the largest jury verdict in history against that entity (35 million dollars), as well as several other multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Joe has achieved and retained the highest rating, “AV”, by Martindale-Hubbell, which is an independent lawyer rating publication based upon peer review. He has also been recognized by his peers as being a “Super Lawyer,” as well as being a member of The National Trial Lawyers, “Top 100 Trial Lawyers.” Joe’s accomplishments in the legal field include: 2002 Lawyer of the Year for Juvenile Advocacy; Palm Beach County Lawyer of the Month, March 2002; Invitation to join U.S. Millionaires Club; 2005 Gold Level Recognition – Pro Bono Contribution; Pro Bono Recognition, Young Lawyers Division, by Florida Supreme Court Justice Pariente; 2004 Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award; Tobias Simon Award for Pro Bono Service.

Patrick Nutter is a litigation associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office, with a focus on commercial and antitrust litigation. Prior to joining Covington, Patrick clerked for Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Conor O’Brien was born and raised in Southern California. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California in 2009. Following his graduation from Saint Mary’s College, Mr. O’Brien worked at several law firms, each specializing in different areas of the law. Conor O’Brien attended and graduated from Trinity Law School. He passed the California State Bar Exam and was sworn in to practice in 2017. Conor O’Brien comes from a family of personal injury experts. His grandfather, Eldon O’Brien was a personal injury private investigator and created Verdictum Juris, which is a monthly jury verdict report and the annual O’Brien’s Evaluator, which is a comprehensive annual jury verdict publication. Conor O’Brien’s father is also a practicing attorney in Southern California. Conor O’Brien is a member of the Riverside Bar Association and California Young Lawyers Association.
