Mr. Sherman has a multifaceted transactional practice. He represents businesses in all aspects of their business planning including structural planning, tax planning, corporate compliance/operations and negotiating all types of contracts. He handles the sale and acquisition of businesses. Mr. Sherman assists individuals in their business planning, tax planning and estate planning. He also serves as legal counsel to numerous healthcare providers including full service hospitals, surgery/imaging centers and medical practices. Mr. Sherman graduated from the Loyola University School of Law in 1977, where he was a member of its Law Review. In 1978, he received his Masters of Law in Taxation from Boston University. He is a Louisiana Board Certified Tax Attorney and Louisiana Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist. Mr. Sherman is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and has been awarded the designation of Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.

His main focus is civil, entertainment and intellectual property litigation and transactions. He has spent his career representing industry clients, such as producers, production companies, artists, agencies, and distributors in all aspects of the television, recording, modeling, and motion picture industries. His work also includes film and television financing, television and film distribution, literary options, contract interpretation, copyrights and trademarks, idea submissions, shopping agreements, royalty accounting, TV syndication, music rights and licensing, and rights of publicity. Mr. Sherman has experience in all aspects of intellectual property and entertainment litigation from inception through post-trial briefs. Mr. Sherman is a member of the California, Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations. He can also regularly be heard as a legal contributor to the Jim Daniels Show on NBC Sports Radio and Sunday mornings during Sports on Tap on 95.5 KLOS.

Judy is a health care attorney with a wide range of experience representing hospitals, long-term care providers, nursing homes, and other health care providers with respect to litigation, regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters. Her litigation experience includes serving as lead counsel in state and federal actions involving Medicaid, Medicare, the Illinois State Prompt Payment Act, the False Claims Act, and state and federal agencies, including a U.S. Supreme Court class-action suit on behalf of Illinois Medicaid providers challenging Medicaid reimbursement practices.

Attorney Donald Shiffman was recently successful with assisting a 55-year-old individual with obtaining SSD benefits without the need for a hearing. The amount of past-due benefits paid exceeded $33000.00 with monthly benefits awarded of over $2000.00.

Buzzi L. Shindler is the Litigation Chair of the Scottsdale office. He has extensive experience and tried-and-true expertise handling a broad range of commercial, transactional and litigation matters, with an emphasis on real estate and business transactions, business formation, governance and operations, estate planning, outside general counsel, and commercial, real estate and construction litigation. With respect to the transactional side of his practice, Mr. Shindler represents a wide variety of clients, including individuals, small and large businesses, banks and financial institutions in diverse business and commercial matters and has vast experience in limited liability company and corporate governance, commercial property acquisitions, retail leasing, asset sales and purchases, loan transactions, financial dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation. Mr. Shindler also handles an array of conservatorship and estate planning matters, including drafting of revocable living trust agreements, wills, durable financial and healthcare powers of attorney, and living wills. With regard to the litigation side of his practice, Mr. Shindler handles primarily commercial, real estate and construction disputes, including breach of contract actions, business torts, creditors’ rights and post-judgment enforcement, landlord/tenant matters, mechanics’ lien, and construction defect claims.
