I am a founding parter at Shorb & Connor and make it a point to get to know every client that walks through our firms doors. We are a small firm and offer small firm personal service but have the technology and team attorney approach of the larger firms. I practice Family Law exclusively and have for many years., However, I have litigated countless cases and obtained sizable awards for my clients in cases ranging from Medical Malpractice, negligent loan servicing, and financial elder abuse to administrative appeals before the Office of Administrative Hearings. The law firm practice encompasses a wide spectrum of family law matters, including, but not limited to, divorce, paternity, child support, child custody, post judgment modifications, stepparent adoption, relative adoption, name change and domestic violence, as well as criminal defense. Ms. Silon-Laguna graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies. While in school, she was awarded Founder’s Day Honors and a Certificate for Outstanding Achievement and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law, where she graduated With Honors. Since October 1995, Ms. Silon-Laguna is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Ed Silva is a founding member of Hartzog & Silva, with more than forty-five years of experience in trial advocacy. He represents clients in family law matters and personal injury cases throughout Tennessee, before Circuit and Chancery Courts, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, the Tennessee Supreme Court, and United States District Courts. He has been recognized by his peers as one of the state’s most respected family law attorneys, as well as for his work in civil mediation. Ed has been repeatedly listed among the Best Lawyers of America and as a Mid-South Super Lawyer, and has been named Best Lawyer’s Nashville Area “Lawyer of the Year” in the field of Family Law for 2010, 2007, and 2020. Ed is actively involved in a number of legal and local civic organizations. As a result of dedication to his community, he has been recognized as Franklin’s Citizen of the Year and received the Heritage Foundation Legacy Award. Following his graduation from Boston College, Ed served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, including tours of duty aboard the USS Constellation in the Western Pacific and in Vietnam. He achieved the rank of full lieutenant before returning to civilian life. He is married to Suzanne, a published writer and homemaker. They have two children, Alexandra and Anthony, and two grandchildren.

Ms. Simpson is an experienced litigator who practices in all areas of matrimonial and family law matters, including those involving custody, visitation and support issues, the valuation and equitable distribution of marital assets, and the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements. Ms. Simpson has negotiated successful settlements on behalf of clients and, when necessary, litigated numerous complicated financial and custody matters through to trial, including matters garnering national and international attention. Ms. Simpson is a former member of the Matrimonial Committee of the New York City Bar Association and an active participant in the New York Women’s Bar Association Pro Bono Matrimonial Law Project. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section. Ms. Simpson has co-presented A Woman's Roadmap to the Detours of Life at Bloomberg and on Sirius Radio. Ms. Simpson has been voted a New York Family Law Super Lawyer by her peers each year since 2015, has been a Pinnacle Professional Member of Who’s Who since 2016, and has been recognized as one of New York’s leading family law attorneys by Leaders in the Law as of 2018. Ms. Simpson lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
