When he was growing up, attorney Billy Strickland, heard this statement quite often from people who were taking advantage of him or his family, “Sue me.” He grew up on the other side of the tracks, and what these people understood was that he could not afford to retain an attorney. Because of that, they knew they could take advantage of him or his family. He decided at a young age that if he could not afford an attorney he would become an attorney. He wanted to be the type of attorney that would help others through many of the obstacles he faced growing up. That is the reason his main focus is YOUR case OUR mission! Whether it’s protecting you from an insurance company taking advantage of you when you’re injured, protecting you from someone who has not kept their word, or protecting you from an over-zealous court system, his desire is to fight for you when you’re unable to do so yourself. Attorney Strickland has practiced most of his career here in Wayne County, except for one year as a clerk for the Court of Appeals and one year as a City Attorney.

Eugene is a proud founding partner in the law firm of Khalifeh & Strupinsky, P.C., in 2024, which arose from a prior 8-year-long partnership. He advises clients on intellectual property matters, such as copyrights and trademarks, as well as works with businesses on compliance issues, healthcare laws, and transactional matters. His previous experience includes private practice as an associate at the law firm of Powley & Gibson, P.C. He is also very proud of his early work as a public defender for Criminal Defense Practice of The Legal Aid Society in New York City and as a Court Attorney. Eugene received his J.D. in 2004 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and his B.S. in Zoology and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2000. As a resident of Brooklyn, Eugene likes to travel, swim, read, explore the diversity of New York City, and see Broadway shows with his kids.
