Heidi Bernstein manages our matrimonial, family law and criminal and traffic law practice. Heidi has been a practicing attorney for over twenty-eight years with extensive experience in matrimonial and family court matters, prenuptial agreements, separation agreements and post-nuptial agreements in addition to handling educational law issues, criminal and traffic matters, and mental health and drug court cases. Heidi has won numerous trials involving custody, child support, maintenance, and equitable distribution. Heidi has successfully represented clients in divorce actions, criminal contempt proceedings, family offense matters, and relocation petitions. Ms. Bernstein has handled same ­sex family court and matrimonial actions and has secured parental rights to same­ sex partners before the passing of the Marriage Equality Act in 2011. Heidi draws on her perspective as a trial lawyer to counsel and advocate for clients facing these and other significant life events.

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. I earned his J.D. from Whittier School of Law in June 1999 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in December of that year.

Beth E. Bertelson is the founder of Bertelson Law Offices, P.A., located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Focusing her practice on labor and employment law, she represents employees in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and throughout Minnesota in litigation and pre-litigation negotiations in matters involving severance, employment and noncompete agreements, and related issues. Certified as a specialist in labor and employment law by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Ms. Bertelson also mediates employment disputes and has been designated as a "qualified neutral" under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for the District Courts.
