As a representative in the insurance industry for ten years prior to the practice of law, Mr. Dorsett has extensive knowledge of the needs and expectations in the arena of insurers, risk managers and real estate litigants. His practice history includes national representation of companies in the manufacturing, printing and hospitality industries, regional representation of companies in the insurance, hospitality, chemical and food industries, and local representation of companies in the food, construction and real estate industries, as well as other commercial entities and individuals. Mr. Dorsett combines his insurance, food liability, hospitality, real estate, and toxic tort background with litigation management practices that equate to a trustworthy practice in handling loss volume that save costs for his clients. As a previous litigation representative and claims manager, Mr. Dorsett has understanding of the insurer and risk managers’ need to keep costs to a minimum while providing a competent and efficient defense. Philip H. Dorsey’s family has been a part of Southern Maryland for generations. Phil was born and raised in St. Mary’s County, attending Ryken High School before graduating to Boston College to study political science in 1974. After graduating Boston College with honors, Phil attended the George Mason University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1982. While in law school, Phil clerked with the law firm of Stiller, Rhykus, and Smith, P.C. for 3 years, representing clients such as the Fraternal Order of Police, and assisting in Criminal defenses. Phil practiced with them for six months before returning to St. Mary’s County. in 1983 Phil established the Dorsey Law Firm in Leonardtown, and has since handled over 100 jury trials and thousands of cases.

Carroll (Cary) Dortch works primarily with estate planning, elder law, Medicaid and long-term care planning, asset protection, and business formation and advice. Cary has helped thousands of clients with their estate plans and enjoys providing quality services at a small law firm price.

Mr. Dorwart has practiced law since 1966. He has experience in both litigation and transactional law, principally oil and gas, securities, and banking law. He currently focuses his practice on structuring commercial transactions, advising clients on the legal aspects of business matters, and coordinating teams of attorneys handling complex litigation. Before forming Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC in 1994, Mr. Dorwart was the managing partner of Holliman, Langholz, Runnels & Dorwart. Mr. Dorwart was, from 1969 to 1989, a stockholder, director and officer of various manufacturing concerns. He was Co-founder of the International Society of the Energy Advocates and a principal draftsman of the 1995 Oklahoma Tort Reform Act.
