Stephen was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa. At an early age, his life and dreams were disrupted by a protracted 14-year civil war that devastated the nation, destroyed countless lives, and shattered many aspirations. As a result of the conflict, Stephen and his family fled to neighboring Ghana, where he lived until relocating to the United States to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. With 13 years of legal practice, Stephen’s journey has profoundly shaped his legal philosophy and continues to guide the way he approaches every matter he handles and every client he represents. Having experienced adversity firsthand, he understands the importance of advocacy, resilience, and having legal representation. Sunshine, Esq. who is now the Administrative Judge for Matrimonial matters in New York State. In 2008 Martin Friedlander founded a boutique matrimonial firm in New York City. Martin Friedlander appears before all Supreme and Family Courts and before the Appellate Divisions. Mr. Friedlander has handled cases in the Hague Convention. He specializes in Arbitration and Mediation and has extensive knowledge on all issues relating to a “Get”. A fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, International Academy of Family Lawyers, and the New York State Advisory Matrimonial Committee. Janine M. Frisco has practiced for more than 15 years with a focus on California complex family law matters, including child custody, asset and property division, child and spousal support, as well as domestic violence including criminal matters for over 10 years. Ms. Frisco regularly handles trials and acts as a mediator on behalf of her clients. Prior to joining Gilligan, Frisco & Trutanich, she served with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Born in Waxahachie, Texas before the earth cooled (1965). Graduated from University of Houston in 1988 with a B.S., in Political Science. Received J.D. from South Texas College of Law in November of 1991. I competed in national mock trial competitions, so I stepped out of law school trained as an active litigator from day one. I had my first jury trial within first six months, which I won. After practicing law in the Houston area for twelve years, I relocated back to the DFW metroplex. My practice is dedicated to family law litigation. I have a proven track record of success in both settling cases for my clients in mediation and in litigating those cases that need final trials. I've been able to balance my practice and personal life, leaving time to give back to the community.
