Mr. Nelson has demonstrated extensive experience in casino regulatory compliance, gaming operations, and hotel operations. He has successfully represented clients before the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada Gaming Commission, New Jersey Casino Control Commission, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and other domestic and international jurisdictions. He has represented clients with respect to complex licensing issues. He has defended clients against disciplinary matters. He has represented clients in gaming and entertainment tax matters. Mr. Nelson has extensive experience in promotions, contingent prize events, and lottery issues. Mr. Nelson has obtained approvals for nightclub operations and marketing programs. He has negotiated and drafted agreements relating to the purchase and/or lease of slot machines and other gaming equipment. Mr. Nelson also has experience in the ever-changing world of internet gaming, social gaming, and mobile gaming. Mr. Nelson recently participated in a presentation on abandoned video games and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Mr. Nelson has represented many commercial clients in commercial transactions, real property transactions, buy/sell transactions, and private placement of securities. He has represented clients with respect to business formation matters in domestic and international jurisdictions. He has drafted and negotiated Operating Agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Management Contracts, and Employment contracts. He served as general counsel to subsidiaries responsible for branch office activities. He has negotiated and drafted retail leases, restaurant leases, licensing/franchise agreements, and other similar agreements. He also has considerable experience in representing a commercial client with land use matters, use permits, water rights, special assessment districts, and environmental issues. Mr. Nelson has represented commercial creditors in collection and bankruptcy matters. He has represented secured creditors and has obtained temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, and receivership orders. His practice also includes insurance defense litigation.

Area of Practice: Civil Rights Mr. Neslund is an experienced trial attorney who has won millions of dollars for his clients, including a $5 million dollar settlement in the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald by Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke and, most recently, a $4.75 million dollar verdict, where an officer shot three siblings at a New Year’s Eve party. Mr. Neslund has extensive jury trial experience in both Federal and State Courts. He practices nationally, and specializes in cases involving police brutality, wrongful death, wrongful convictions, false arrests, as well as catastrophic personal injuries caused by negligence. Mr. Neslund has been widely recognized for his insight and experience in police brutality and related Constitutional issues. Mr. Neslund has appeared on local, national and international television and radio to comment on his own cases and related civil rights issues. The settlement in the Laquan McDonald case brought a microscope of national and international attention to the shooting itself as well as the City of Chicago’s Code of Silence in trying to cover up misconduct in police shootings. The United States Department of Justice initiated a federal investigation into the facts and circumstances of the shooting as well as a policy and practice review of the entire Chicago Police Department. Officer Van Dyke was ultimately convicted of second Degree Murder and 16 counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. In addition to his civil work, Mr. Neslund is an accomplished criminal defense attorney. He is a former prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Gang Crimes Unit where he tried exclusively First Degree Murder cases involving the various street gangs in Chicago. Mr. Neslund has successfully defended hundreds of clients in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Neslund graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1989 and with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1992, where he was an editor on the Florida Law Review.

Donna Nesselbush is a founding partner of Marasco & Nesselbush. Attorney Nesselbush is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, in the United States District Court, and in the United States Court of Appeals. Donna Nesselbush has represented thousands of Social Security Disability claimants at all levels of review before the Social Security Administration, the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review, the Appeals Council, the United States District Court, and the United States Court of Appeals. Mark Neuhauser received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law. During law school, Jon focused his studies on human rights and workers' rights. This course of study ultimately led him to his career as a litigator working on behalf of union members and other working Americans facing severe injury and death due to unsafe products and workplace conditions. Jon has represented pipefitters, steamfitters, machinists, boilermakers, electricians, laborers, plasterers, tile setters, painters, drywallers, auto mechanics, longshoremen, ceramics workers, factory workers, U.S. Navy machinist's mates, U.S. Navy boiler technicians, U.S. Navy electrician's mates, and U.S. Navy enginemen who were wrongfully exposed to asbestos and asbestos-containing products. Additionally, Jon has prosecuted claims involving asbestos-containing cosmetic talc and industrial talc, as well as para-occupational take home, environmental, and neighborhood asbestos exposures.
