Area of Practice: Domestic Violence Attorney Veronica T. Barton is an award-winning trial attorney. She is licensed by the State Bar of California and represents clients throughout California, including in the Bay Area, the Central Coast, Los Angeles, and San Diego. In 2019, Veronica founded the Law Offices of Veronica T. Barton to defend those accused of domestic violence. In today’s society, the chilling reality is that people can be convicted based solely on the accusation of someone else. False accusations are rampant. Even more alarming are restraining orders that are filed based on false allegations, where, without even being able to give their side of the story, someone can be kicked out of their house and unable to see their children, potentially for months at a time. In the era of “#metoo,” a false accusation has the potential to ruin someone’s life. Veronica has made it her mission to stop that from happening to her clients.

I came to this profession for the clients and with a goal of helping people navigate their legal problems. While there are certainly plenty of tough days, I have never been able to say that I do not truly enjoy what I do. I am proud of work alongside of other passionate attorneys, who selectively fight only the good fights, and who all have a keen eye for detail. My most treasured moments are when I get to see the client win, whether it is building their newly adoptive family, opening the storefront of the buisness we helped create, or reaching the resolution of a business or employment dispute. Gary J. Barton is a criminal defense lawyer who has lived in the San Antonio area nearly all his life and takes pride in calling San Antonio his home. Gary is a former Bexar County Felony Assistant District Attorney and uses his extensive knowledge of both sides of the criminal justice system to ensure the best outcome in every case. He has handled every type of criminal case from the most serious Capital Murders down to Possession of Marijuana charges. Gary has won numerous jury trials in a number of jurisdictions throughout Texas and New Mexico.

Kara Lee Barton is the founder and managing partner of BartonWood. She is a member of the Kansas, Idaho and Utah Bars. Ms. Barton has practiced family law exclusively since 2003. She is committed to providing quality legal services to her clients in the most cost efficient manner possible. She understands that whether it is divorce, child custody, co-parent adoption, decree modification or an enforcement issue, her clients are trusting her with all they hold most dear — their assets, their homes, and their children. BartonWood (previously known as Barton Law Office) was started in 2001. For the first seven years of Ms. Barton's practice, she practiced personal injury, construction, employment, medical malpractice, and corporate defense law. Her experience in these areas of the law provides a broad foundation and interdisciplinary understanding of the many facets of litigation and unique insight into the complexity of family law cases. Ms. Barton holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Philosophy from the University of Utah. She has been nominated by her peers as one of Utah’s Legal Elite. Although born in Idaho, Ms. Barton is a proud descendant of Utah Pioneers who were among the first to settle on the Wasatch Front. In addition to practicing law, she is a private pilot, an avid horsewoman, and a skier.
