Joseph N. Roda is an attorney at NastLaw LLC. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brown University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Joe is an experienced brief writer who also brings a strong mathematical background to NastLaw. Joe’s practice at NastLaw primarily involves antitrust litigation. Joe currently spends much of his time working on the Generic Drugs antitrust litigation. His prior efforts in the Dairy antitrust litigation (First Impressions Salon Inc., et al. v. National Milk Producers Federation, et al.) helped to secure the recent $220 million settlement in that case. Prior to his work in the antitrust field, Joe assisted in litigating a number of mass tort cases. Joe’s past work in the mass tort field includes Yaz birth control, Zoloft, Fosamax, Testosterone, Talcum Powder, and Proton Pump Inhibitors. He also has significant experience in data breach litigation. In addition to his work in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Joe is a member of the California State Bar.

Thomas grew up in Wilmington, N.C., and attended the North Carolina State University before graduating magna cum laude from Charleston School of Law, where he served on the editorial board for the Federal Courts Law Review. After law school, Thomas served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paula H. Thomas of the South Carolina Court of Appeals in Columbia where he gained experience in a wide array of legal issues. Thomas began his career in private practice with a boutique firm in Charleston where he practiced in the areas of complex criminal defense and personal injury, and he joined Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., in 2013. As part of the firm’s appellate practice group, many of Thomas’s clients are other lawyers who seek assistance with the unique and nuanced aspects of appellate practice. In addition to his varied appellate practice, Thomas also represents clients in both state and federal trial courts on a variety of business and contract disputes, including mechanic’s liens and construction-related litigation. His practice also includes insurance coverage and bad faith claims as well as property disputes, condemnation proceedings, and electronic surveillance/wiretapping claims. Thomas is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association and has also served as an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law. Thomas is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate courts in South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Thomas is married to Julie Moore Rode, a fellow Charleston lawyer, and they live in West Ashley with their son Charlie, daughter Finola, and their two wire-haired dachshunds, Howie and Omar.

José Antonio Rodríguez serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Acacia Network. In this role, he oversees all aspects of legal work, corporate compliance, and risk management for Acacia and its affiliates. He previously served as counsel for BASICS Inc. and, later, as Board Attorney for Acacia Network. José worked in private practice from 1979 to 2016. He possesses a B.A. Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York and was awarded the Leonard E. Reisman Medal for Scholarship and Service – which was, at the time, one of the most prestigious awards given at graduation. He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Seton Hall School of Law in 1978. In addition to his admission to practice in the State of New York, he is also admitted to practice in all four Federal District Courts. He has argued appeals before the Appellate Division and has appeared in many different trial courts throughout New York State. He also taught several years as an Adjunct Professor at CUNY’s Bronx Community College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
