Marisa C. San Filippo is a Certified Family Law Specialist (certified by the CA State Bar Board of Legal Specialization), a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and a partner at Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP. Ms. San Filippo has dedicated her entire career to family law, and handles a wide variety of cases, including high conflict child custody cases and complex high-asset financial matters. Ms. San Filippo brings her tenacity and compassion to each matter, handling cases involving dissolution, legal separation, property characterization and division, child custody and visitation, pre-marital agreements, child and spousal support (initial orders and post-judgment modifications), and paternity matters. Ms. San Filippo’s areas of expertise focus on complicated financial issues, including cases involving valuation of business and partnership interests, goodwill, and equity compensation. Ms. San Filippo has experience in cases involving startups, venture capital, and real estate development. Ms. San Filippo is also a highly experienced custody attorney, with a background in issues including gatekeeping, resist-refuse dynamic, relocations/move-aways, substance abuse, special needs, and conflicted co-parenting relationships. Ms. San Filippo has extensive experience drafting and negotiating intricate pre-marital and post-marital agreements. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. San Filippo enjoys supporting clients through mediation as a consulting attorney. Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP, Ms. San Filippo spent the summers after her first and second years of law school with the firm as a law clerk. Upon graduation, she joined Flicker, Kerin Kruger & Bissada as an associate and became a partner with the firm in 2016. Ms. San Filippo was born and raised on the Peninsula, where she currently resides, and strives to support the legacy of community service instilled in her by her parents. She serves on the Board of Sigma 1916, the housing corporation associated with her college sorority. She has also volunteered her time supporting events for the Sequoia Hospital Foundation in honor of her late father and now serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Ms. San Filippo is a member of the State Bar of California, as well as the San Mateo County Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Ms. San Filippo earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2008. She also graduated as a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society. While in law school, Ms. San Filippo was a member of the University of San Francisco Law Review and published her comment on real estate valuation in the marital dissolution context in the fall of 2007. She received a CALI Award for Excellence in Family Law in spring 2007 and an award for Best Brief for Moot Court in spring 2006. Ms. San Filippo volunteers her time by handling pro bono cases through the Legal Aid Society's Domestic Violence Collaborative. Prior to joining Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada LLP as a partner, Ms. San Filippo spent the summers after her first and second years of law school with the firm as a law clerk. Ms. San Filippo earned her B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley with high honors. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Thomas Sanner is an experienced attorney with a diverse legal background in civil law. Practicing in the areas of contracts, construction, municipal property, probate, family, business, and regulatory law. Thomas is proud to have provided quality legal services to clients in a wide range of legal issues. Now, Thomas focuses his practice on family law to meet the needs of clients in the Central Illinois area through assertive representation and personal attention. Thomas has gained valuable experience and perspective in the litigation of family law matters. Thomas is a strong advocate for children and their best interests. In addition to serving the needs of clients, he is also often appointed as a GAL to serve the interests of children. Thomas was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. After graduating high school, Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. After obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law Thomas returned to the Central Illinois area to practice law. Thomas takes a personal interest in his clients’ legal needs and advocates strongly to ensure their voices are heard. Thomas considers his compassion, attention to detail, and effective communication to be some of his most important qualities in serving as counsel for his clients and meeting their objectives. In his free time, Thomas enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, traveling, competitive shooting sports, and spending time with loved ones. He is active in USTA tennis leagues and a member of the McLean County Bar Association.

Lydia J. Sartain served for nine years as District Attorney of the Georgia Northeastern Judicial Circuit. She also served as Solicitor for the State Court of Hall County. A native of Blairsville, GA, Lydia graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. In 1998, Georgia Trend magazine listed her as one of the state’s “Forty Under Forty” leaders, and in 2006 she was named one of Georgia’s top trial lawyers. Launching her own practice in 2019 provided Lydia the opportunity to focus on what she knows best – Family Law and Mediation. Prior to her appointment as DA, Lydia acted as Director of Georgia’s Children and Youth Council under Governor Zell Miller. In this position she oversaw grant programs to prevent juvenile delinquency and monitored all of the juvenile detention facilities across Georgia as part of the Department of Justice. In 1999, Governor Roy Barnes appointed Lydia to serve on the State Board of Public Safety where she supported the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to disaster.
